Upscale pho place, which might seem like an oxymoron, but actually isn't. They use higher grade meats than usual, including their signature oxtail pho; and have better presentation than most: their Obama noodles are a complex dish and one that is likely to confuse you (hint: you use the lettuce leaves to wrap noodles, meat and vegetables).
Seattle is a town teeming with pho shops, but this one stands out, both for their presentation and the quality of their ingredients. -

Just stopped in here because the wasn't anything that looked good nearby and was pleasantly surprised.
What we got:
Calamari appetizer....Bomb!!! Coated in Panko breads crumbs and served with sweet chili sauce, these are some of the tastiest strips of squid
Goat curry: -

Yummy appetizer, oxtail pho and most spectacularly delicious was the Obama Noodle!!! Fresh herbs (basil, bean sprouts, cilantro, cucumber), well portioned noodles, egg rolls, and tender-licious grilled pork in the vermicelli sweet fish sauce!!! I was grubbin' with my hands like my savage-self back in the motherland. It was so delicious and would def be back! Love the food!

The South End along MLK has some of the best low-key type ethnic mom-and-pop restaurants in Seattle. Wicked Chopstix is a bit different from that though, because it just looks more modern and trendy on the inside. It's a relatively newer (and cleaner, if you get my meaning) restaurant in the neighborhood- the inside is more dressed up with shiny new tables, shiny new chairs, nice decor and lots of natural lighting. That said, despite being a 'nice looking' restaurant, I think the food is actually pretty good. I needed to make that a point because, from my experience, most Asian restaurants that look too 'nice' and 'modern' serve mediocre and watered-down food.
The Mango Shrimp Salad is really good. That would be a great appetizer to kick things off- it's freshly crisp and has a great tangy taste to it. Also, the Bo Ne (Dodging Beef Steak) makes for a good hearty main plate. The portion of cubed beef is pretty good, and it comes out sizzling hot. The Hailam Chicken Rice isn't bad either, but this one is hard for me to really judge on. I'm Malaysian, and I've had Hailam Chicken Rice in several different hawkers and food courts in Kuala Lumpur, Petaling Jaya, and Singapore, and Wicked Chopstix' offering just isn't fair to compare... BUT for Seattle standards, I think it's just good enough. I do like that mildly sweet garlic sauce that comes on the side. Try for yourself though!
The food here is pretty good overall. My one gripe though is I think the menu is relatively expensive compared to other restaurants in the area (the cost of doing business, I presume). But overall, this place deserves a FOUR STAR rating and a visit from you if you're in the area! -

Cute little trendy place off MLK way.. Vietnamese street food.. I of course had to try the oxtail pho.. delicious..the broth is really good.. this is the first time I tried the Obama noodle dish.. interesting.. id get it again to share . It's a good thing I went with my Vietnamese friends cause she showed me how to eat it... Put the veggies in the bowl first .. then the tofu and fish cakes.. mix chili sauce with the fermented shrimp paste sauce.. and add that to your bowl.. little goes a long way cause it's salty af!.. wouldn't eat this on a date cause unless you bring mouthwash.. it's pretty much bagoOng sauce for my fellow Filipinos..
